Presentation of Sustainable Tourism in Bosnia and Herzegovina

In the organization of the Italian non-governmental organization CISP, on Wednesday, 8 May 2024, at the “Courtyard by Marriott” hotel in Sarajevo, a panel called “Green Talks: Monitoring sustainable tourism in Bosnia and Herzegovina” was held, which brought together numerous state and non-governmental representatives institutions, including representatives of the Cantonal Public Institution for Protected Natural Sreas. This panel was held as part of the Sustainable Horizons Festival, which is part of the final activities of the “NaturBosniaHerzegovina: Protected Areas and Sustainable Development” project.

The panelists discussed the topic of protection and valorization of protected areas, valorization of territories and active involvement of local communities in the promotion of sustainable tourism in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Sustainable tourism initiatives developed in selected protected areas of Bosnia and Herzegovina that contributed to the creation of replicable and sustainable good practices and the creation of a favorable environment for further growth of the sector were presented and shared. Specific actions to strengthen and improve policy, strategy and action plans in the tourism industry sector in Bosnia and Herzegovina have also been identified.  Director Asad Jelešković gave a detailed presentation of the Institution’s achievements in the past period.
