From 23 to 25 April, Bosnia and Herzegovina hosted a meeting of two working groups within the International Commission for the Protection of the Danube River. The event was organized by the Sarajevo-based Agency for the Sava River Basin, and it brought together representatives from Danube basin countries – Germany, Austria, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Croatia, Hungary, Moldova, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia, Slovakia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The International Commission for the Protection of the Danube River is a transnational body established to implement the Convention on Cooperation for the Protection and Sustainable Use of the Danube River.

As part of the event, participants visited Vrelo Bosne and learned about its exceptional natural value. Special attention was given to the area’s water resources, with a focus on the improvement and rational use of both surface and groundwater.
