Representatives of the Public Institution for Protected Natural Areas attended the inaugural consultative meeting of protected area managers on 7 April in Sarajevo, at the Ibis Styles Hotel, as part of the process of developing management plans. The meeting was organized with the aim of introducing consortium members, presenting the methodology for the preparation of management plans, introducing the expert team, and defining the next steps in the process.

A new management plan is being developed for the Skakavac Natural Monument, which will serve as a key document for enhancing the protection, sustainable use, and development of this protected area. On that occasion, the Institution’s Director, Asad Jelešković, presented expectations regarding the new management plan and informed participants about the current situation, challenges, and management needs of the protected area.

All of these activities are being carried out within the framework of the FUTURE Project, which is implemented in Bosnia and Herzegovina by the Regional Environmental Center (REC). In the coming period, intensive work on the preparation of the planning document will continue through the cooperation of all relevant stakeholders.
