Organized by USAID, a workshop titled ‘Development of Tourist Products in Protected Areas’ took place on 25 June at the ‘Ibis Styles’ hotel in Sarajevo. Participants included representatives from the Cantonal Public Institution for Protected Natural Areas. The workshop covered theories of product development and marketing, and explored opportunities for public-private partnerships within protected areas.

During the workshop, it was agreed to explore successful case studies and develop a new tourist product within the protected areas of Sarajevo Canton under the guidance of Dr. Almir Peštek, a marketing professor at the Faculty of Economics, University of Sarajevo; Šemsa Alić, an expert in public-private partnerships; and Jack Delf, a specialist in developing tourism products in protected areas and owner of ‘Black Mountain,’ a tourism company based in Montenegro. Their collaborative effort aims to create innovative tourist experiences in the protected areas of Sarajevo Canton, ensuring that visitors appreciate and respect nature while contributing to its conservation.
