On 22 May, International Day for Biological Diversity was celebrated at Vrelo Bosne through an event organized by the Public Institution for Protected Natural Areas.

A rich and engaging programme was prepared by students from Primary School Nafija Sarajlić, who showcased their creativity and environmental awareness through various performances and educational activities. Following the programme, the students participated in group workshops where they created posters dedicated to the protection of nature and the conservation of natural values.

The event formed part of the Institution’s long-standing environmental education initiative aimed at marking important ecological dates and raising awareness among young people about the importance of biodiversity conservation and sustainable environmental stewardship.

It is particularly noteworthy that more than 18,000 students have participated in this programme since its launch in 2011. The project has been continuously implemented by the Public Institution for Protected Natural Areas in cooperation with primary and secondary schools, providing generations of young people with opportunities to learn about environmental protection, biodiversity, and the importance of preserving natural heritage for future generations.
