On 3 September, the traditional 6th Skakavac trail was held in the protected area of Skakavac. The organizer was the Mountaineering Society “Skakavac”, and among the event’s partners was the Cantonal Public Institution for Protected Natural Areas, which provided the necessary technical assistance.
All races and accompanying events took place in the area of the “Skakavac” Protected Landscape. Participants competed in races of 8,5, 21 and 42 kilometers and in a special race – Canicross (race of owners with dogs). As part of the longest race of 42 kilometers, the 4th Mountain Running Championship of Bosnia and Herzegovina was held. Tamara Vučinić, Mersiha Šehić and Dragana Seferović-Pilav exhibited their works at the art exhibition. A yoga session was also held, and a gathering of runners and a large number of visitors was organized.
This traditional manifestation promotes a healthy way of life and the natural values of the “Skakavac” nature monument, popularizes it even outside the borders of the country, and points to the numerous possibilities of using this gem of nature.
