The protected natural areas of Sarajevo Canton have recorded a high number of visitors in recent months. In terms of specific data, monitoring is currently possible only at Vrelo Bosne and Bijambare, as these sites have implemented entry control and ticketing systems.
An interesting fact is that, out of the total number of tourists, about 67% of visitors to Vrelo Bosne were foreigners, while around 22% of visitors to Bijambare came from abroad.
The Cantonal Public Institution for Protected Natural Areas continuously works to improve conditions for all visitors by preserving natural resources, biodiversity, and cultural-historical values. To achieve this, the Institution allocates significant funds from its own resources and actively applies for various domestic and international projects to secure additional financial support.
