Organized by the Mountaineering Association “Skakavac” from Sarajevo, in cooperation with the Public Institution for Protected Natural Areas and numerous other institutions, the 9th Skakavac Trail took place on 6 September within the Skakavac Natural Monument. The event gathered a large number of participants and visitors from both Bosnia and Herzegovina and abroad.
Competitors took part in several categories: the marathon (42 km), half marathon (21 km), recreational trail (10 km), family trail (4 km), B2B trail (4 km), and the Canicross trail (7.5 km), where owners ran alongside their pets.
This event served to promote the facilities and potential of the Skakavac Natural Monument, one of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s true natural gems. Such activities contribute to its recognition beyond the country’s borders, placing it on the global map of must-visit destinations.
