The 2nd “Adnan Ćatić – Armin Gazić 2026” Memorial Climbing Event took place on 5-6 September in the Bentbaša Protected Landscape, commemorating two distinguished Bosnian climbers and mountaineers. The event brought together numerous competitors, recreational climbers, nature enthusiasts, friends, and family members, who paid tribute to their colleagues who passed away prematurely through sport, camaraderie, and a shared passion for climbing.
A total of 32 male and female climbers from Australia, Belgium, Norway, France, Croatia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina registered for the climbing marathon. The highlight of the programme was the climbing marathon itself, held in three competition categories: men’s pairs, women’s pairs, and mixed pairs. Throughout the day-long competition, participants demonstrated exceptional physical fitness, technical skills, and sportsmanship while tackling challenging climbing routes in the Miljacka River Canyon.
The Bentbaša area offers outstanding conditions for sport climbing and numerous other outdoor activities, as this memorial event once again demonstrated, further promoting the area as an attractive destination for outdoor sports and recreation.
