Vrelo Bosne and Bijambare visited by more than 400,000 tourists in 2025

The Natural Monument “Vrelo Bosne” and the Protected Landscape “Bijambare” once again confirmed their status in 2025 as some of the most visited and attractive natural sites in Sarajevo Canton.

In the past year, the Natural Monument “Vrelo Bosne” recorded a total of 332,007 visitors, of whom as many as 225,196 were foreign visitors, confirming its highly significant role on the tourism map of Sarajevo and Bosnia and Herzegovina. These impressive figures testify to the continuous interest of both domestic and international visitors in the natural beauty, tranquility, and authentic atmosphere of this protected area.

The Protected Landscape “Bijambare” was visited by 70,688 visitors in 2025, including 12,620 foreign visitors, while the Middle Bijambare Cave was explored by 27,030 visitors. This site, known for its natural phenomena, caves, and rich biodiversity, continues to attract nature lovers, families, excursionists, and tourists seeking a meaningful stay in nature.

The past year was extremely successful and represents a strong incentive for the further development and improvement of protected areas. The Public Institution for Protected Natural Areas of Sarajevo Canton will continue its activities in 2026, focusing on improving conditions for visitors, with special emphasis on preserving natural values, enhancing infrastructure, and creating an even more pleasant environment for enjoying nature.
