In the organization of the Cantonal Public Institution for Protected Natural Areas, on 26 October, October – the month of fire protection – was marked on the plateau near the arrival station of the cable car on Trebević. A member of the Professional Fire Department of the Canton of Sarajevo gave a lecture on fires to the students of the “Vrhbosna” elementary school from Sarajevo. Students also had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with firefighting equipment and means of extinguishing fires. They were also shown how to behave and who to notify in the event of a fire, and an employee of the Institution introduced them to the biodiversity of Trebević.
This event was held as part of the project of marking important ecological dates in cooperation with primary and secondary schools, which the Institution has been implementing since 2011. More than 15,000 students from the Sarajevo Canton have participated in this project.
