In the organization of the Cantonal Public Institution for Protected Natural Areas, on 27 December 2022, in the premises of the Municipality of Centar, a presentation and panel discussion was held on the topic of the Visitor Management Plan of the Nature Monument “Skakavac”, which was developed as part of the “EU4BusinessRecovery” project, co-financed by the European Union and Government of the Federal Republic of Germany. In the wider area of Skakavac, the “Nature for Recovery” project is being implemented, which the Cantonal Public Institution for Protected Natural Areas is implementing with the Municipality of Centar and the Sarajevo Regional Development Agency – SERDA. The presentation was held by professor Almir Peštek from the Faculty of Economics of the University of Sarajevo and Emina Zečić from the Center for Energy, Environment and Resources – CENER 21. The results of the analysis of the state and attendance and the overview of the development strategy of the Nature Monument “Skakavac” were also presented at this event.
The goal of creating the Visitor Management Plan in the area of Skakavac is to develop and elaborate the way of managing visitors in the wider area of Skakavac, to determine the necessary infrastructure and carrying capacity of the area in accordance with the prescribed nature protection measures, as well as to provide recommendations for the reception and management of visitors who will not endanger the valorized natural values.
