The International Day of Forests was marked on 21 March, on the plateau in front of the arrival station of the cable car on Trebević in the organization of Cantonal Public Institution for Protected Natural Areas. A rich and interesting program, which consisted of recitals and dance, as well as slogans about forests and their importance for the planet, sung by the choir, was performed by the pupils of the elementary school “Nafija Sarajlić” from Sarajevo.
This event was held as part of the project of marking important ecological dates in cooperation with primary and secondary schools, which the Institution has been implementing since 2011 and through which more than 12,000 pupils have passed. Such events, which have become traditional, fully fulfill their goal, which is to educate the young population about the importance of protecting natural values and actively involve them in this issue.
