As part of the project ‘Establishment of continuous monitoring of ichthyofauna in the protected natural areas of Sarajevo Canton,’ stocking was conducted on June 26, reintroducing native brook trout of the Danube basin to the source of the Bosna River within the Nature Monument ‘Vrelo Bosna.’ This project, a collaboration between the Cantonal Public Institution for Protected Natural Areas and the Faculty of Science and Mathematics of the University of Sarajevo, aims to sustainably manage and enhance fish populations in protected watercourses.

One of the project’s most significant achievements is the reintroduction of native brook trout of the Danube basin to their centuries-old natural habitat.
