On 17 November 2022, a meeting of representatives of the Ministry of Economy of Sarajevo Canton, KJP “Sarajevo-šuma”, the Ministry of Communal Economy, Infrastructure, Spatial Planning, Construction and Environmental Protection of Sarajevo Canton and the Cantonal Public Institution for Protected Natural Areas (Institution) was held in the premises of the Institution. The topic of the meeting was the protection of forests and forest ecosystems in the areas managed by the Institution.
Future activities related to the improvement of forest protection were agreed, which will be defined by an agreement on the cooperation of all actors of the meeting. That agreement will improve, among other things, measures to protect forests from bark beetles as well as other projects related to forest protection. All of the above will be implemented with the recommendation of experts from the Faculty of Forestry of the University of Sarajevo.
