As part of the marking of the European Car Free Day, the Cantonal Public Institution for Protected Natural Areas organized a bike ride on 22 September at Vrelo Bosne, in which more than 250 pupils from elementary and secondary schools in Ilidža participated. The start of the bicycle race was at the beginning of Velika Alleja at the parking lot near the taxi stand, and the students rode to the end of Stojčevac Alley and back with police and medical security.

The bike ride was organized as part of the project of marking important ecological dates in cooperation with primary and secondary schools, which has been implemented by the Cantonal Public Institution for Protected Natural Areas for the thirteenth year in a row and through which more than 15,000 students have passed. The sponsor of the cycling event was Coca-Cola.

The massive response of the students once again confirmed the justification of the Institution’s focus and reliance on the young population, who by participating in these manifestations are involved in the work of protected areas and educate about the importance of protecting natural values.
