In the organization of the Tourist Board of Sarajevo Canton, on 27 September, the World Tourism Day was marked in the “Monti” hotel on Igman, on the occasion of which a panel on “Tourism and Green Investments” was held.

In addition to the others, one of the panelists was the representative of Cantonal Public Institution for Protected Natural Areas, who in her presentation referred to tourism and the aspect of nature protection.

This event sent messages that Sarajevo Canton is the backbone of tourism in BiH and that protected natural areas are an example of good practice when it comes to nature protection. At the panel, it was pointed out from the Institution that a lot of work and effort is needed to preserve nature with a large influx of visitors. The Institution’s commitment to the development of tourism was also highlighted, but not at the expense of nature and natural values.
