On 17 October, the Cantonal Public Institution for Protected Natural Areas organized an event to mark October as Fire Protection Month at the plateau near the cable car arrival station on Trebević. A member of the Sarajevo Canton Professional Firefighting Unit delivered a lecture on fires to students of the “Vrhbosna” elementary school from Sarajevo. The students also had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with firefighting equipment and fire extinguishing tools. Additionally, they were shown how to act and whom to notify in case of a fire.
This event was part of a project that marks significant environmental dates in collaboration with primary and secondary schools, which the Institution has been implementing since 2011. Over 15,000 students from Sarajevo Canton have participated in this project.
