A presentation of the results of the monitoring and assessment of the health status of game and waterfowl in the protected areas of Sarajevo Canton was held in the organisation of the Cantonal Public Institution for Protected Natural Areas on 31 October 2022. Along with the results of the report, the supervisors of protected areas were presented with instructions related to the keeping of domestic animals within the owner’s property, which will have effect on the breaking of the chain in the spread of zoonoses (infectious diseases of animals that can be transmitted to humans). They were also presented with the existing legal framework.
This presentation was carried out in accordance with the Agreement on the provision of services for the aforementioned monitoring and assessment of the health status of wild game and waterfowl signed between the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the University of Sarajevo and the Cantonal Public Institution for Protected Natural Areas.
