On 1 June, “Days of Protected Natural Areas of Sarajevo Canton” event was opened in the area of the “Vrelo Bosne” Nature Monument. The event was opened by Nermin Muzur, the mayor of the Municipality of Ilidža, and the participants were addressed by dr Nusret Drešković, Dean of the Faculty of Science and Mathematics in Sarajevo, Adnan Medić, Assistant Minister of the Ministry of Communal Economy, Infrastructure, Spatial Planning, Construction and Environmental Protection of Sarajevo Canton, and Asad Jelešković, Director of the Cantonal Institution for Protected Natural Areas, which is also the organizer of this event.
After the opening of the event, students of the Faculty of Science and Mathematics with professors and students of the Fourth High School explored the biodiversity of the Vrela Bosna area.
The event will last until 5 June, and within its framework, the World Environment Day will be celebrated and the work and research capacities of the Institution and partner institutions will be presented. This event aims to transfer knowledge to the youngest generations and future researchers and scientists.
