“Days of Protected Areas Managment in BiH” held in Bihać

The “Days of Protected Areas Managment in BIH”  were held from 26 to 28 October in the hotel “Emporium” in Bihać, in the organization of WWF Adria and the National Park “Una” from Bihać. Representatives of protected areas participated, including the Cantonal Public Institution for Protected Natural Areas, as well as relevant federal and cantonal ministries, UNDP, the Program for the Support of Nature Protection in Southeast Europe, the “Dinarica” ​​Association, “Dinarica Parks” and many others.

The aim of the meeting was to explore how to strengthen cooperation, exchange of experiences and improve coordination for the purpose of developing and creating sustainable financing models for protected areas in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Among other things, the participants discussed global perspectives in nature protection, the model of adaptive planning and management of tourism in protected areas, and had a panel discussion on the topic of sustainable financing of protected areas in BiH.

Representatives of the Cantonal Public Institution for Protected Natural Areas held a remarkable presentation of the Institution’s way of working and doing business, as well as the characteristics of the managed areas.
