On 19 May 2023, an art colony called “All the Charms of Vrelo Bosne” was opened in the area of the “Vrelo Bosne” Nature Monument, which will last until 23 May. The colony was opened by Asad Jelešković, Director of the Cantonal Public Institution for Protected Natural Areas, who introduced the participants to the protected areas of the Sarajevo Canton, focussing on Vrelo Bosne, its peculiarities and the importance it has not only for Sarajevo, but also for the whole of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Painters from four cities in Serbia – Vrbas, Bačka Palanka, Sombor and Bajina Bašta – will participate in the work of the colony, and they will have the task of painting scenes from Vrelo Bosne. Organizers are selector Mirza Ajkunić, Hotel Hills Sarajevo and Cantonal Public Institution for Protected Natural Areas of Sarajevo Canton. A certain number of the paintings will be donated to the Institution and will be exhibited in its premises.
The protected areas of the Sarajevo Canton meet all the conditions for holding such events, to be a meeting place for artists who will immortalize their extraordinary beauty.
