As part of the celebration of the World Biodiversity Day, a practical training on the rich diversity of bird species inthe Natural Monument “Vrelo Bosne” was held on 21 May 2022 at Vrelo Bosne. Under the direction of ornithologists, Elementary School “Vrhbosna” students and slightly older interested visitors had the opportunity to get acquainted with some of the 112 bird species at Vrelo Bosne, that were recorded in the last monitoring, watch them with binoculars and listen to their songs.
This event was organized by the Cantonal Public Institution for Protected Natural Areas and the Center for Energy, Environment and Resources – CENER 21, in cooperation with the Ornithological Society “Our Birds” from Sarajevo, within two projects – “We know and protect the natural values of Sarajevo Canton” implemented by CENER 21, and the project of marking important environmental dates in cooperation with primary and secondary schools, which is implemented by the Cantonal Public Institution for Protected Natural Areas for the twelfth year in a row.
