Network of Schools in the Protected Area

A training called "Network of schools in the protected area" was held by WWF within the program "Protected areas for nature and people" in the Bey’s Ethno Village on Bijambare, from 16 to 20 May 2022. Teachers and representatives of protected areas and non-governmental organizations from Montenegro, Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina participated in the work.

The aim of this training was to strengthen cooperation between local schools and protected areas, more precise involvement of teachers in creating and promoting educational programs in protected areas, which will eventually contribute to a better understanding of the importance of nature protection among young people and their more active participation in protected areas. At the training, the participants dealt with the topics of experiential learning in nature, establishing and strengthening cooperation with local schools and developing educational programs using program evaluation methods.

At the end of the training, the participants visited the area of the Protected Landscape “Bijambare” and got acquainted with its organization and issues.
