An Agreement on cooperation in the implementation of activities from the current management plans for the protection of protected natural values of the Sarajevo Canton was signed on 16 June 2022 in the Natural Monument “Vrelo Bosne”. The agreement was signed by Minister Enver Hadžiahmetović on behalf of the Ministry of Communal Economy, Infrastructure, Physical Planning, Construction and Environmental Protection of Sarajevo Canton and Director Asad Jelešković on behalf of Cantonal Public Institution for Protected Natural Areas.
In accordance with the management plans, the adaptation of the public toilet as well as the revitalization and presentation of the natural heritage in the nucleus of the area are planned at Vrelo Bosne.
With this agreement, the reconstruction of the Ravne – Vidikovac hiking trail and the inventory of the reptile and amphibian population are planned in Trebević.
In the area of Bentbaša, reclamation and ecological revitalization of the area on the Dariva promenade is planned, as well as the establishment of continuous monitoring of linden trees in the Alley of Ambassadors and inventory of the population of reptiles and amphibians.
At Bijambare, it is planned to arrange the visitor infrastructure in the narrower complex of Bijambare caves, reconstruct the water supply system, research and develop guidelines/ programs for the restoration of peatlands and establish monitoring of reptiles and amphibians.
In the protected natural areas of Trebević, Bentbaša, Vrelo Bosne and Bijambare, also in accordance with their management plans, research of orchid habitats is planned with publication of results and production of promotional and educational video materials of the mentioned areas.
Based on these planned activities, it is evident that the Ministry and the Institution pay great attention to the protection and preservation of natural values and the development of infrastructure in protected natural areas of Sarajevo Canton.
