On 18 October 2022, 120 spruce seedlings were planted in the area of the “Trebević” Protected Landscape. Employees of the Cantonal Public Institution for Protected Natural Areas participated in the afforestation campaign on the occasion of the 120th anniversary of the founding of the Serbian educational and cultural society “Prosvjeta” from Sarajevo, which provided these seedlings. Previously, the terrain for afforestation was prepared by the students of the High School for Environment and Wood Design from Sarajevo.
Such actions enrich the biodiversity of protected areas, and it should be emphasized that care must be taken in choosing the terrain for afforestation, as well as the types of trees that should be planted. With the campaigns like this one, other institutions are involved in the work of protected areas. This time the Institution was joined by “Prosvjeta” and the High School for Environment and Wood Design from Sarajevo.
