The Cantonal Public Institution for Protected Natural Areas was registered on February 5, 2010 and defines its work on the basis of Management Plans for Protected Areas.
The public institution includes the following protected areas: Bentbaša ", Protected landscape" Trebević "and Protected landscape" Bijambare ". The tasks of the Public Institution are protection and preservation of original natural values (geological, hydrological, biological) and environmental diversity, as well as ensuring the smooth flow of natural processes, and supervision over the implementation of conditions and protection measures in protected areas.
