As part of the”Days of Protected Natural Areas of Canton Sarajevo”, on 2 June, students of the First Elementary School from Ilidža researched bird species at Vrelo Bosne. Their lecturers and guides were members of the Ornithological Society “Our Birds” from Sarajevo, who introduced them to the diverse and rich bird life of this area and instructed them in the characteristics and specifics of each species. The students toured the entire area of the “Vrelo Bosne” Nature Monument and observed the birds through binoculars and listened to their songs.
This is one of a series of activities where students get to know the protected areas of Sarajevo Canton and their exceptional natural values. In this way, students are educated and involved in the work of protected areas and become one of the most important segments in their work and promotion.
